About Backyard North

Backyard North is an independent guide to gear for Canadian backyards: pellet grills and barbecue, four-season yard care, and the tools for home and outdoor projects.

Most gear reviews are written for the American market. They rarely mention what’s actually sold in Canada, whether you can get parts and warranty service here, or how a product holds up at -20°C, in road salt and through freeze-thaw cycles. We write for those conditions.

How we choose what to recommend

• We compare manufacturer specifications, warranty terms and parts support in Canada.
• We look for patterns in verified owner reviews, both good and bad.
• We say so when the cheaper option is good enough.
• We don’t claim hands-on testing unless we’ve actually done it.
